Kynsy releases ‘Utopia’ EP, out today (October 25th) via Nice Swan Records

“Genre-hopping anthems that flaunt grit and glamour…a masterclass of channelling angst into disarming indie for a new generation” NME

“Kynsy’s world is one bursting with colour and brimming with authenticity”  DIY

“Kynsy is Ireland’s indie-pop star on the rise….such is the lightning-in-a-bottle quality of her talent” Paste

Irish indie sensation Kynsy releases her brand new ‘Utopia’ EP, out today (October 25th) via Nice Swan Records (English Teacher, Sprints, Chalk).

Beginning with the ringing, clarion call riff that opens latest single ‘Body’, ‘Utopia’ comprises material lyrically full of transition and self-analysis, whilst musically they’re the most confident thing the musician has written to date. From the defiant, anthemic catharsis of ‘Utopia’ through ‘Stereo Games’’ cheeky indie dancefloor prowl (influenced by both New Young Pony Club and the playfulness of Wet Leg) to ‘Formaldehyde’’s melodically-rich climax, it’s the sound of Kynsy fully stepping into herself.

Newly partnered with esteemed indie label Nice Swan, Kynsy has already attracted widespread support throughout the tastemaker community (NME, DIY, Dork, Clash, The Line Of Best Fit, Rough Trade, Paste), as well as BBC Radio 1 (Jack Saunders) and BBC 6 Music (Chris Hawkins) airplay; whilst on the live front she has already ticked off previous slots with acts including Black Honey, Do Nothing and NewDad and will be hitting the road this autumn for a full UK tour, with headline shows lined up at The Waiting Room, London and Castle Hotel, Manchester amongst several others.

Speaking ahead of her EP release, Kynsy revealed: “This EP is a journey through the tumultuous landscapes of self-discovery and emotional liberation. Each track explores the struggles of breaking free from toxic influences, confronting personal demons, and ultimately finding empowerment. It’s a raw, unfiltered expression of the highs and lows of seeking one’s true self, blending poetic introspection with a rebellious spirit. From the haunting confessions of ‘Formaldehyde’ to the fierce defiance of ‘Stereo Games’, this EP is a testament to the transformative power of facing the truth and embracing freedom.”

Kynsy’s ‘Utopia’ (EP) is out now via Nice Swan Records and available on all digital platforms.
