Yard Act are a band changing the landscape of emerging British punk. With just three releases under their belt the Leeds based quartet have already amassed industry acclaim from the likes of Radio X’s John Kennedy and BBC 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq. Not to mention features on Radio X’s ‘New Bangers’ playlist and Spotify’s Hot New Bands and The Punk List.
Their latest release ‘Peanuts’ chronicles an absurd social commentary of a fictional husband murdered via a peanut allergy by his wife. Think Punk combined with nonsensical comedy along the lines of Shooting Stars. However don’t be fooled by Yard Acts comical lyricism, the song has depth with catchy, snaking riffs and relentless snarling beats.
With the announcement of their line of limited edition charity t-shirts, with all profits going to Project Mama, a charity providing birth support for displaced women in Bristol. Firstly, be sure to stream their three releases. Support Project Mama with their amazing new merch line. And keep an eye out for live announcements – Yard Act are a band is not to be missed!
